Keke Palmer says she can't keep 'makeup on for 10 damn days or eat whatever': 'That's just not my life'
Keke Palmer is all about living a balanced life.
The Nope star, 28, spoke to People about how she manages her adult acne — one of her biggest symptoms of PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome) — with a healthy diet. However, Palmer stressed that she can’t be “perfect” all the time.
“Sometimes my skin is in a really good place when I'm being just so perfect about everything that I'm eating but then other times it's not,” she noted, joking that some people can “keep their makeup on for 10 damn days or eat whatever they want and not [have] one little pimple.”
"I want to eat and do certain things so I think it's just about balancing, knowing at the end of the day, it's not always going to be perfect,” the Nickelodeon alum shared. “Yes, you could live your life very strict about every single little thing or you can just know that sometimes it's going to be up, sometimes it's going to be down. … So I think I found my place somewhere in the middle."

Palmer first opened up about her PCOS in December 2020. In an Instagram post, she said that she struggled to find a doctor who really understood her symptoms.
"My acne has been so bad that people in my field offered to pay for me to get it fixed,” she said at the time. “I tried EVERYTHING. I did Accutane TWICE. People say drink water, have a better diet, but I did all that, I ate all the 'right' things, my blood tests were fine. But it took ME taking a personal look into my family that has a history of diabetes and obesity, to understand what was ACTUALLY happening with me. And unfortunately doctors are people and if you don’t 'look the part' they may not think that’s your problem. They may not even suggest it if you 'look healthy' whatever that means! I came to a doctor in tears once and all they offered was a measles vaccine. ... Exactly."
While Palmer has found a way to manage her PCOS, she is still frustrated by her adult acne. In an Instagram post earlier this month, she questioned why plastic surgeons haven’t found a way to fix her skin yet.
“I was just thinking about the fact that plastic surgeons are amazing, OK? They can give you a boob job, above the muscle, under the muscle liposuction, a tummy tuck, a BBL, they can even implant muscles. I mean, the list goes on, but they cannot figure out how to clear up somebody's acne?” she asked. “All these years and all these inventions, you can't figure out how to take the beautiful skin from my ass and put it on my face?”
