Keke Palmer Hints At Starring in This Late Icon's Biopic One Day
The 'Nope' actress is hoping for a chance to play Whitney Houston someday.
Keke Palmer is hoping for the chance to portray none other than Whitney Houston in a movie someday.
After fans on Twitter pointed out Palmer's similar vivacious energy to that of the iconic singer, the Nope actress pushed for the leading role in a Houston biopic.
"Keke Palmer and Whitney Houston act exactly the same," a user wrote on Twitter, along with a series of charming video clips of Houston in her prime.
Palmer responded in agreeance, and called for an opportunity to embody Houston on the big screen.
"Let's get the movie made y'all," the Hustlers star tweeted in response on Thursday. "I'm ready to ACK, let's weep in the theaters."
Although filling the shoes of "The Voice" may be a tall order, Palmer's fans think she would be up to the challenge.
"You would absolutely kill in this role," one user on Twitter wrote, with another calling Palmer "quite possibly the greatest candidate to play Whitney in the history of candidates."
"Whoever has the power to make this happen needs to stop stalling," someone else tweeted.
Unfortunately for Palmer, a Houston biopic appears to already be in the works, with Naomi Ackie in the starring role.
According to Harper's Bazaar, the feature film—entitled I Wanna Dance with Somebody—has already been signed off on, and is expected to hit the big screen in late 2022.
