Kelly Clarkson Confides in Jenna Bush Hager About Her Weight Loss Journey
Barbara Bush, Jenna Bush Hager, and Kelly Clarkson
Kelly Clarkson and Jenna Bush Hager had a refreshingly candid conversation about their fluctuating weight.
Jenna and her twin sister Barbara Bush appeared on the Nov. 6 episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, where Jenna talked about her evolving body. The conversation was sparked when the talk show host shared a throwback picture of the Bush sisters.
Jenna said, "We were chubby."
Kelly denied this, as she countered, "You were not."
Barbara also interjected with a similar comment, saying they were not chubby in the picture shown on the show. Jenna continued to criticize her appearance, as she added, "Not there, but I was [chubby]."
The Today show co-host turned to her twin and asked, "Was I chubby?" Though Barbara shut down the comment, after further prodding by Jenna, she noted, "Well, there was a stage…It was college, it wasn't then."
The American Idol winner could relate, as she chimed in with: "I've had many stages, actually." She then spoke about her own weight loss, noting, "I love losing weight but here's the thing—jeans are so hard when you have a butt and like a smaller waist."
Jenna kindly offered to take the hitmaker jean shopping, but Kelly denied the offer. Jenna, however, said she'd be willing to do what she does for her Today show co-host Hoda Kotb and send some jeans anyway.
Clarkson slimmed down 40 pounds throughout the year. A source close to the pop star told Life & Style that the singer didn't use popular weight-loss drug Ozempic. Instead, she lost weight the old fashioned way: dieting.
"She's limited her sugar and carb intake. She's cut out soda, chips, biscuits, cheese and tortillas. And she's added exercise, mostly cardio, into her weekly routine," said the insider.
