After shutting down speculation that she used Ozempic to lose weight late last year, Kelly Clarkson is giving fans a little insight into the wellness routine that actually contributed to the "dropped weight."
The real answer: It was alterations to her regular diet and fitness regimens that allowed her to slim down. “I dropped weight because I’ve been listening to my doctor," she stated in a new interview with People, explaining that there were a couple of years where she didn't.
“I eat a healthy mix...and 90 percent of the time I’m really good at it because a protein diet is good for me anyway," she continued. "I’m a Texas girl, so I like meat."
Back in October, a Life & Style source claimed that Clarkson had recently "limited her sugar and carb intake," removing things like soda, chips, cheese, tortillas, and more. But that doesn't mean she won't still "splurge," as she recently admitted to enjoying the occasional frozen yogurt with 9-year-old daughter River Rose: "It was magical."
Another secret to her slimmer frame? Clarkson shared she's getting her steps in thanks to living in the Big Apple. For those who missed it, the chart topper now lives in New York City, as her talk show moved to Rockefeller Center, so she also gets "quite the workout" just by walking around.
"I’m really into infrared saunas right now," she added. "And I just got a cold plunge because everybody wore me down."
Some fans took the weight loss as a matter of "revenge" following her contentious divorce from Brandon Blackstock, frequently complimenting her new figure, but for the most part, they're a lot more taken by her "totally amazing" vocals.
