Kelly Clarkson Impresses Fans by Singing a Cover in French: 'Killing It'
Kelly Clarkson
Kelly Clarkson is taking on a new language, and as usual, fans are thoroughly impressed with how well she sings despite not being fluent in the dialect.
The "Since U Been Gone" songstress took on yet another hit for a recent Kellyoke session on The Kelly Clarkson Show, delivering a powerhouse presentation of her own tune "I Dare You," performed completely in French.
For the feat, the very first American Idol winner flaunted her slimmed-down figure in a black strapless form-fitting dress stylishly worn over a long-sleeved white button-up shirt. She paired the look with matching peep-toe pumps.
"J'adore Kelly, those songs in different languages are just another proof she is the real Vocal Queen," one fan wrote in a comment under a video of the performance shared via the official YouTube account of the broadcast.
Another supporter, who happens to be a native speaker of the language and was clearly moved by the demonstration, chimed in with similar thoughts: "As a French person, knowing that Kelly Clarkson sang in French, I can finally die in peace. Her accent is really good and every word she is singing is intelligible, I can see that she put a lot of effort in it, she is a Queen."
"Being French myself, I'm thoroughly impressed by her willingness to give it a try. It demonstrates a great deal of respect for what lies ahead for her in France. Preparation is crucial, and she consistently sounds incredible," someone else echoed.
"She sings in Spanish and English perfectly. I can only assume she is killing it in French too. What’s next?!?! She’s amazing!!!" an additional social media usher gushed, while yet another added, "As a french guy I can tell she nailed it and understood every word she sang. Now she’s ready to host the olympic games," in part.
Clarkson is practicing the dialect in honor of the upcoming Paris Olympic Games, where she is slated to cohost NBC's 17 Days of Olympics coverage alongside Peyton Manning and sportscaster Mike Tirico. Today show stars Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie are also set to report on the highly-anticipated event.
