Kelly Clarkson Joins Street Performer in Las Vegas: 'Made My Day'
On her way to sound check for her performance at the iHeartRadio Music Festival on Saturday, Sept. 23, Kelly Clarkson was sidetracked by an incredibly talented street performer.
After tipping her, Clarkson said she was invited to join in, noting that the woman initially had no idea who she was.
As seen in the clip shared by the 41-year-old, Clarkson belted her heart out for the performer, who was grooved to the song before embracing Clarkson in a hug. It wasn't until after the two got close that the woman finally realized who was standing before her, shouting, "Are you f-----g kidding me?!"
The American Idol alum posted a clip of the heartwarming interaction on social media, sharing her candid performance of "What's Love Got to Do with It" by Tina Turner with the rest of the world.
The "Because Of You" singer further explained in the caption that she met "this incredible woman killing some Tina Turner and then she asked me to sing and had no clue who I was, and then it hit her, and it made my day!"
Her pop-up performance wrapped shortly before she tore up the stage at the music festival, as Clarkson continued her post, writing, "She gives the best hugs and sings her tail off! See ya tonight Vegas ?? #iHeartFestival2023."
Ryan Seacrest was among those in awe, gushing in the comments, "So good ????," while someone else wrote, "Kelly’s like 'there’s a strike, we can’t do Kellyoke, this will do.' ?? Love how you made this woman’s day and everyone who watched! Truly America’s Idol! ??."
A third Instagram user also noticed an interesting detail in the video, quipping, "Not that guy dropping some cash in the bucket after she sang ?? did he know he was tipping Kelly Clarkson?! ??."
The endearing moment should be no surprise for fans of Clarkson, as the singer has been caught putting on her own street entertainment in the not-too-distant past, breaking into song at a subway station in New York City and a few cafes in the Los Angeles area earlier this year.
