Kelly Clarkson Praised as ‘Mother Christmas’ Following Grand Ole Opry Performance

Kelly Clarkson

Kelly Clarkson can tackle any genre of music with ease, and she proved that, once again, during a recent festive performance.

While taking the stage for NBC's Christmas at the Opry show hosted by Wynonna Judd, which was pre-filmed in front of a live studio audience in October, the former (and very first) American Idol winner dazzled with a rendition of her holiday hit, "Underneath the Tree."

A snippet of the merry display was shared in a joint post by Clarkson and the network via Instagram. "thank you @kellyclarkson for giving us our Christmas anthem. ????," the caption read. Additionally, the social media note shared information on how fans can catch the country music special if they missed it: "watch #ChristmasAtTheOpry again on December 20 9/8c on NBC and streaming now on @peacock."

In the comment section of the upload, fans flooded in with praise for the multi-faceted songstress.

"???? bravo she gets better and better I can’t stop watching she has such a beautiful voice," one wrote, while another dubbed her "mother christmas [sic]."

"You’re incredibly beautiful and talented. Love our Texas girl! You have done us proud. ??," a third gushed.

"My favorite Christmas album ??????," someone else admitted, referencing her 2013-released project where the track was featured, Wrapped in Red.

The Kelly Clarkson Show host cut a stylish figure for the occasion while giving subtle Nutcracker ballet vibes in a black off-the-shoulder long-sleeved dress with a voluminous tulle skirt. She paired the look with bright red lipstick and a matching crimson-colored manicure.
