Fans often praise Kelly Clarkson for her candor, but she may have gone too far this time.
The talk show host recently welcomed Kenan Thompson to her studio to talk about his new memoir, When I was Your Age: Life Lessons, Funny Stories & Questionable Parenting Advice from a Professional Clown, which happens to include some "shower advice" that led the American Idol alum to make some questionable statements about her own hygiene methods.
Clarkson encouraged the SNL star to open up about his advice, though he seemed hesitant to step on her toes when it came to her showering habits, already knowing what she was going to say.
“I don’t regularly brush my teeth in the shower,” she pointed out. “I just do it if I’m in a hurry.” That being said, Clarkson "[does] happen to be in a hurry a lot.”
"That's fine, because that's where you are in the world with that," he deadpanned. “I’m on the whole other side where I find it to be gross and I don’t do it.”
Another topic covered is washing your legs, with Thompson encouraging readers to be careful not to miss any spots. Clarkson, on the other hand, felt that the soap and water from her upper half running over her lower half was sufficient.
"Just different approaches to life; it's fine," he replied.
But Clarkson wasn't done, next asking Thompson for his opinion on peeing in the shower.
Thompson could tell immediately what Clarkson's stance on the matter was, pausing before admitting, "I would lie if I said I had never done it, but I try not to."
Clarkson, meanwhile, does it "almost every time," claiming an almost Pavlovian response to the hot water, similar to a childhood sleepover prank.
Thompson conceded again that he's "not never done it," but each time he has, he's felt "ashamed."
The "Lighthouse" crooner, on the other hand, feels "productive" when it happens, knocking multiple tasks off the list at once.
Fans weren't convinced by her enthusiasm, though, with plenty disagreeing in the comments. "Ewwwww...never," wrote one.
"Both are gross," another affirmed.
"Must we share everything??" someone else on Twitter wanted to know.
Doing so certainly doesn't hurt anyone, but we get it—it's a lot to learn about a stranger!
