Kelsea Ballerini’s Ex Responds to Her Bombshell Interview About Their Divorce
The Australian singer denied Kelsea Ballerini's claims about their messy divorce.
Morgan Evans isn't letting Kelsea Ballerini say "Dibs" on the last word.
Following Ballerini's bombshell interview on the Call Her Daddy podcast, in which she made claims about her past marriage, her ex-husband Evans has spoken out and denounced any allegations made about him as false.
"It's really sad for me to see this person, who I spent so much of my life with, and loved with all my heart, saying things that aren't reality and that leave out what really happened. She knows I'm not the type of guy to speak on those things publicly," he wrote in a statement on Instagram Feb. 21. "If this is what she needs to heal, I hope it helps. All I ask if that if you're on my pages, please don't be mean. Don't be mean to Kelsea, don't be mean to each other. Life's too short."
Evans issued this response after a preview of the podcast episode was shared on social media on Feb. 21, where Ballerini alleged Evans used her to further his career and took "half of the house that he didn't pay for."

The full episode was shared on Feb. 22, where Ballerini detailed to host Alex Cooper the alleged events that lead to her divorce.
When asked how she feels about Evans' song "Over for You," where he sings about being blindsided by Ballerini's separation request, the "Peter Pan" artist stated that Evans knew their relationship was coming to an end.
"I was livid," she explained. "I think that maybe there's a world where he was blindsided but I did not blindside him. I think two things can be true. If he truly was blindsided then where was he? That's the point."
"We were in therapy for years. Remember that time I slept on the couch before the CMA Awards and we walked the carpet with bags under our eyes because we had been fighting?" she noted further. "Again, if that is your narrative, if that's true to you, where were you?"
As for the timing of "Over for You"? Ballerini called the release "very opportunistic," as they were in the middle of their divorce proceedings.
She added, "I felt very used in that moment. And again, his healing journey is his healing journey and I respect that, but publicly exploiting it feels a little nasty to me before it's final."
Despite the drama with her ex, Ballerini happily confirmed that she's dating Outer Banks star Chase Stokes.
"I'm happy and I'm really relearning a lot about myself and how I show up in a relationship for myself and it's been a really beautiful reawakening," she said about her new relationship with Stokes.
The couple met when Ballerini slid into his Instagram DMs. "His handle is @hichasestokes and I said, 'Hi Chase Stokes,'" she recalled.
