Kelsea Ballerini Floats Across the Stage in Ethereal Blue Crop Top
Kelsea Ballerini hit the Today Plaza in New York City this week, looking like something straight out of a modern-day fairytale.
The "Peter Pan" singer was the most recent performer for the Today Show's Citi Concert Series, where she treated the crowd to “Heartfirst,” “Blindsided,” Penthouse,” and “If You Go Down I’m Goin’ Down Too” on Friday, Aug. 11 in an ethereal, powder blue crop top.
It featured a sheer overlay on top of a solid bandeau for modesty, the ruched fabric lined with a ruffled lace. The long sleeves opened up at the wrist, asymmetrical strips of fabric and matching chords adding a little length and mimicking the triangular-shaped strips that fell down to the tops of her thighs on either side.
She paired the romantic top with a slightly more muted shade of blue trousers and accessorized with a delicate gold chain necklace, hoop earrings, rings on each hand, and a beaded friendship bracelet, leaving her hair down to blow in the breeze.
"I feel like I look like a pirate," she joked upon arriving on stage, playing with the delicate blue fabric, and while that may have been apropos had she performed her Disney-inspired track, we maintain it's giving more of a blue fairy vibe, a la Sleeping Beauty.
She was also spotted embodying a princess when she posed for photos with two young fans in the crowd, asking politely if she could shake their hands in a video posted to Today's Instagram and melting both the show's and fans' hearts in the process.
