Kelsea Ballerini responds to troll who told her to 'lose some weight' after the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show: 'I'm not a model, I'm a singer'
Victoria’s Secret may have chosen Kelsea Ballerini to join the runway as a performer at the 2018 fashion show, but that didn’t stop one ill-mannered observer from telling the vocalist that she needed to “lose some weight.”
After performing her hit song “This Feeling,” alongside the Chainsmokers on Thursday, the country singer took to her Instagram to post a few pictures of the once-in-a-lifetime experience, following those posts up with snaps of her eating pasta after the show. While the photos inspired most people to comment on how much she deserved praise after an incredible performance, someone had the audacity to make a comment about her appearance — and Ballerini immediately shut the commenter down.

“Hi troll. Listen,” replied the 25-year-old, who posted a screenshot of the interaction to her social media. “First of all, I’m not a model, I’m a singer. Second of all, I’m not responding to this to give you attention because you don’t deserve that, I’m responding because I’m a healthy, normal chick which I pride myself on and work hard for, and want other young girls to see that and know that ‘skinny’ is not always the goal.”
Ballerini also went on to tell the troll that commenting on her weight or size “is disgusting.” And of course, most of her followers agreed. “That is beyond unacceptable,” someone wrote in response, while another said, “This infuriates me. She’s so healthy and so beautiful.”
Luckily, the singer didn’t seem to take the comment to heart, captioning the post, “Not today Satan” and adding a number of amusing graphics.
“I’m going to get a burger now” is how she concluded the clapback. “Bye.”
