Kelsey Grammer Addresses David Letterman Confusing Him With Travis Kelce

Kelsey Grammer is finally chiming in after David Letterman notably mistook him for Taylor Swift's boyfriend, Travis Kelce, while talking about the "it" couple in a recent social media video.

In case you missed it, Letterman, 76, was gushing about Swift's love story with the Kansas City Chiefs player in an Instagram post shared late last month, when he accidentally confused the athlete with Grammer, 68.

"Here's Taylor Swift, who is a glowing bright light of goodness in the world, and she starts dating Kelsey Grammer," the former late night host said at the time, while his team from behind the camera tried letting him know he had the wrong "Kelsey."

But now the Frasier actor is chiming in on Letterman's blunder—which he jokingly says might not have been a mistake at all.

"David Letterman doesn't do anything by accident," Grammer jokingly told Parade while attending the 12th SCAD TVfest on Thursday, Feb. 8. "I don't think there was an accident in that at all," he added with a laugh."

Keeping the joke rolling, Grammer said, "Taylor and I are both kids from New Jersey, and we just found each other. It was fabulous."

Obviously, we know Grammer's kidding, as Swift, 34, definitely isn't in a relationship with the actor—and she also isn't from New Jersey.

Instead, the Pennsylvania-born superstar has been wrapped up in a whirlwind romance with Kelce, 34, whom she began dating in September 2023. The pair have become the talk of the town since getting together in such public fashion, with things only expected to heat up as the football player heads to the Super Bowl this weekend.

The "Cruel Summer" singer—who is just coming off a successful Album of the Year win at the 2024 Grammys—is expected to show up at the game on Sunday, despite having a show in Tokyo, Japan the night before. But with the time zone difference and Swift's dedication to supporting Kelce from the crowd, fans are hopeful that she'll make it work.

Super Bowl LVIII featuring the Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers kicks off Sunday, Feb. 11 at 6:30 p.m. EST.
