Kensington Palace is aiming to quell any fears fans may have for the Princess of Wales, offering a new, albeit brief, health update for Kate Middleton.
According to the AP via ABC News, representatives for the royals confirmed that Princess Kate is continuing to recover well from abdominal surgery—a statement that comes on the heels of several internet users suggesting that the princess has gone "missing" in the wake of her procedure, which occurred on Jan. 16.
The mother of three reportedly spent 10-14 days in the hospital before she returned home to recuperate with her family, with the Palace stating at the time that she was unlikely to return to her royal duties until after the Easter holiday.
They added that the princess "hopes that the public will understand her desire to maintain as much normality for her children as possible; and her wish that her personal medical information remains private," and were very upfront about the fact that they would only be addressing "significant new information" in the coming weeks, but as fans grew restless in her absence they seemingly had no choice.
"No sign of Kate since Christmas? Isn't anyone concerned?" one Twitter user asked over the weekend, accusing the royal family of a "coverup" in the hashtags.
"wdym kate middleton has been missing for two months?" another questioned.
As a result, the Palace dropped the tidbit amid a statement confirming that Prince William had canceled an appearance at a memorial service for his godfather, Greece's late King Constantine, due to an unspecified personal matter. Though the Palace has not offered any details regarding his canceled appearance or directly denied it's related to his wife's health, officials indicated there is no cause for alarm.
