We may still not know when Kate Middleton will publicly return to her royal duties, but the "missing" princess has apparently been working quietly from home during her recovery.
A spokesperson for Kensington Palace told The Telegraph on Thursday, March 21, that "the Princess has been kept updated throughout the process” as her Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood conducted a trial for a new observational tool called the Alarm Distress Baby Scale (ADBB), which can aid experts when it comes to evaluating the social and emotional development of young children.
As the princess pushed for the tool—which is meant to assist adults in better understanding the way babies express their emotions—after seeing its success in Denmark, she's naturally quite invested in the results. According to the publication, she would normally play a part in engagements related to the study's publication, which is expected to come on Thursday, but the results are promising; researchers were able to improve both communications with parents and parent-infant attachment, and identified behaviors of concern in 10 percent of the babies involved in the study, allowing them earlier intervention.
The princess founded the center in 2021, as part of The Royal Foundation of The Prince and Princess of Wales, and frequently speaks on the importance of early childhood development.
Fans were previously led to believe that her first post-surgery engagement would be to review Trooping the Colour on June 8—months after the palace initially said she would complete her recovery period around the Easter holiday—but just a day after the announcement, all indications of her attendance were wiped from the source.
With fake photo scandals and questions about whether any of her reported sightings so far have been legitimate, it's nice to see something undeniably positive!
