When it comes to the guys who inspire us to push harder and go further in our own fitness journeys, you might think of bodybuilders like Calum van Moger, or celebrities such as Chris Hemsworth who share their own advice for getting superhero shredded. But sometimes, motivation can come from the unlikeliest of sources. Like this week, when Kermit the Frog revealed to the world that he's been hitting the gym extra hard recently.

"I've been working out a lot more lately, but it's been tough," he tweeted. "Not because of the exercise, but because it's hard to find 4 ounce weights. Frog biceps were meant for hopping not pumping."

It's a pretty inspiring message: all bodies vary, and getting in shape will look different for you depending on your own circumstances, frog biceps included. It's not easy being green, but Kermit soldiers on anyway, and it's great to see that he is just as resolute in his workouts as other areas of his life.

Way back in 2011, Kermit gave an interview to Men's Health in which he revealed how he still stays fit and healthy after more than 50 years in showbiz:

"Not wearing pants is part of my secret," he said. "I can’t stand any clothes that bind, plus they tend to get damp in the swamp. But, of course, as a frog I can get away with it. You might want to be more discreet when going pantless. As for staying in shape: I swim laps. I eat healthy, although I do have a weakness for going to the drive-thru and getting a large order of flies. And I run a lot—usually while being chased by an amorous pig."

Now we just need him to drop his gym playlist.
