Who Are Kevin Costner's Children? Meet the 'Yellowstone' Star's Seven Kids

As the fan frenzy for all things Yellowstone grows, we're seeing a renewed interest in the star of the show, Kevin Costner, and his personal life. After all, it's pretty surprising to find out the 67-year-old actor is a father of seven. Yep—seven children!

In 2018, he told Parade that movies are a "hobby, just like building houses is a hobby for me, creating an environment for my children and friends. I want to make places where people can feel safe and good and hopefully flourish.”

While some of his older kids have followed in his footsteps into the entertainment industry, “we really don’t talk about my movies at all,” he said of him and his family. “It’s not really a part of our lives; it’s [just] what I do.” In their off-time, the family heads to their 160-acre ranch just outside of Aspen, Colorado, to ride horses and decompress.

Kevin Costner has had seven kids with three women.

—Cindy Silva (whom he was married to from 1978-1994) is the mother of three of his children, daughters Annie (b. 1984) and Lily (b. 1986) and son Joe (b. 1988).

—Bridget Rooney (his then-girlfriend) is the mother of Liam Timothy (b. 1996).

—Christine Baumgartner (his wife since 2004) is the mother of his three youngest children: sons Cayden (b. 2007) and Hayes (b. 2009), and daughter Grace (b. 2010).

Who are Kevin Costner's children?

Costner has been married twice—first to Cindy Silva, to whom he was married from 1978 to 1994—and second to Christine Baumgartner, whom he married in 2004.

Costner had three children with his first wife, Cindy—Annie, 38; Lily, 36; and Joe, 34. The couple, who met at California State University at Fullerton, were married for 16 years before divorcing in 1994.

After announcing the divorce, Costner started seeing Bridget Rooney, the Pittsburg Steelers heiress, but it was a short-lived affair. However, the seven-month relationship resulted in a child—Costner's fourth—a son named Liam, now 26 years old.

Costner had an on-again, off-again relationship with Baumgartner, a model-slash-handbag-designer, whom he dated for two years in the early '00s. They broke up in 2002 with rumors swirling that Baumgartner and Costner disagreed about having more children.

"She said, 'I'm going to wait for you, but not long. When you come to your senses, come back to me,'" Costner told Parade years later. "And I did. Maybe it's the ability to say you're sorry."

Shortly after getting back together, they wed in 2004. They had three children together—Cayden Wyatt, 15, Hayes Logan, 13, and Grace Avery, 12.

"I don't kid myself about certain realities: I won't be around to see as much of this one's life as I'll get to see of my older kids' lives," Costner once said. "So with [them], I really want to be there for every single moment that I can.”

Annie Costner

His oldest daughter, Annie, is 38 years old and also involved in the film industry. A film producer, Annie founded the production company Sound Off Films in 2014, but before that, she acted a bit. She even made an appearance in the 1990 film Dances With Wolves alongside both her parents.

Annie married Dr. Danny Cox in July 2019 at her father's private estate in California.

Lily Costner

Costner's second-oldest daughter, Lily, is also an actress by trade. She appeared in films like 1997's The Postman (alongside her dad) and 2014's Black and White. She has also pursued a career in music as well.

Liam Costner

While not much is known about Liam, his mom is Bridget Rooney, Costner's ex-girlfriend. Unlike the rest of his siblings, he chooses to stay out of the spotlight. He was born in November 1996.

Joe Costner

Joe is Costner's first son who was born in 1988. Costner's oldest son has appeared in two films: The Postman, with his dad and sisters, and Tin Cup.

Gracy Avery, Cayden Wyatt and Hayes Logan Costner

Costner's youngest children, including sons Avery, Cayden Wyatt and Hayes Logan, sometimes attend movie and TV premieres with their father. In fact, most of Costner's kids make red carpet appearances alongside their father from time to time.

In 2015, Costner told Mom.com, "As [my] children interact together, there's always this little bit of, 'Do you care for us now as much as you do them?' That's just a natural thing that happens, and you have to talk about how big love is."

Costner added, "The ability to be able to love somebody else doesn't mean there's less love for you. Love seems to be always able to hang on to as many people as needs to be in that circle."

Is Kevin Costner a grandfather?

Despite having seven children in his blended family, Costner is not yet a grandfather. His oldest daughter, Annie, married in 2019 but hasn't yet announced that she will be making Costner a grandpa anytime soon.
