KFC is rolling out a new menu item nationwide that's a twist on a fan-favorite offering.

On Monday, Jan. 29, KFC revealed it is offering Smash'd Potato Bowls—filled with mashed potatoes and french fries with cheese sauce, bacon crumbles and a three-cheese blend.

The Smash'd Potato Bowls are a fresh take on KFC's popular Famous Bowls, which joined the lineup in 2006. In 2019, the fast food chain added Mac & Cheese Bowls.

"Now you can smash your hunger with our new Smash'd Potato Bowls, which take comfort to an 11 with a unique twist on all your favorite KFC flavors smashed together. If you like our Famous Bowls, you're going to love this new bowl," Nick Chavez, KFC U.S. chief marketing officer, said in a news release. "At just $3.49, it's a comforting meal deal. Are you ready to smash it?"

What's more, customers can add five-piece chicken nuggets for an extra $2.

Additionally, KFC is offering a new $20 Taste of KFC meal. It includes six pieces of Original Recipe chicken on the bone, four sides—mashed potatoes and gravy, coleslaw, corn and mac & cheese—and four biscuits.

X (formerly Twitter) users seemed excited about the Smash'd Potato Bowls, with one person commenting, "Omg I gotta try this."
