KFC's New Fries Are Giving Summer Carnival Vibes
KFC is bringing the carnival to you with its new menu addition.
Instagram food news account Snackolator shared that the fried chicken fast food chain added Funnel Cake Fries at limited select locations in the U.S. only. Instead of being actual fries, these are made with the same type of fried dough as regular funnel cakes, but shaped like fries and sprinkled with powdered sugar.
The Funnel Cake Fries had previously been tested in the midwest last fall, including St. Louis, Omaha, Kansas City, northwestern Arkansas, and southwestern Oklahoma, according to Chew Boom.
Since the dessert was already tested out last year, Snacklator believes that KFC is either "doing another test run (seems unlikely) or these should be in a more expanded rollout across the country." The account also noted in the caption that "so far they've been confirmed in North Texas by a KFC employee (Reddit user Maleficent_Owl_135), but really hoping these get a much wider release so I can grab some."
Unsurprisingly, many in the comments were eager to try them.
"Let’s not make this limited k thx," read a comment. "WISCONSIN PLEASE ??????," wrote a Midwest native whose state didn't get them the first time around. "I hope they come to a location in the Bay Area near me ????," someone else wished. "Wow I’m drooling ??," reacted a fan ready to get his hands on some of the sweet fries.
A commenter who was lucky enough to try them during the first testing round wrote, "These weren't bad!"
Parade reached out to KFC for comment on where fans can find the fries.
