Khloé Kardashian is mom-shamed for having long nails: 'How do you care for a baby with claws?'

Khloé Kardashian’s only been a mom since last April, but she’s already an expert in the art of riling up mom shamers. So far, True Thompson‘s mama has been called out for a litany of so-called parenting offenses, including but not limited to: getting her baby’s ears pierced (too young), plopping her baby in a Birkin bag (too pricey) and leaving the house without her baby (too selfish).

Her latest drama? Flashing a set of long fingernails, which are being criticized for being unsuitable to have around an infant. New moms are often advised to keep their nails short and natural to avoid accidentally scratching or poking their babies. As the BBC has reported, long, artificial nails also harbor more bacteria and have been linked to deadly outbreaks.

“[How] do you care for a baby with claws?” snarked one commenter, prompting someone to respond, “She [doesn’t]. Sadly she has a nanny.”

“Gone too far with the nails,” read another comment, while many wondered how Kardashian could “change diapers” with her fingernails so long.

“It looks ridiculous and she has her baby too??” someone agreed. “Way too long … IMHO!”

“Sorry for asking but with those nails, how [do] you take care of your baby?” asked another follower.

“Love Khloé but so unsanitary for taking care of a baby,” added another critic.

If Kardashian — who was still sporting the nails in a subsequent post featuring daughter True — needs someone to vent to about the criticism, she doesn’t have to look far. Sister Kylie Jenner also got flak for having long nails after giving birth to daughter Stormi Webster last year; according to her latest Instagram Stories, Jenner’s commitment to long nails hasn’t wavered. Fellow new mom Cardi B sparked similar concerns when she showed off her own post-baby nails, which lacked her signature nail art and razor-sharp edges but were still deemed too long by some critics.
