Kids who dressed up as the Obamas get a thumbs up from Michelle: ‘You nailed it!
These kids are giving the former first couple a run for their money.
Ryleigh Madison, 4, a child model, and her friend Zayden, 4, recently dressed up as Barack and Michelle Obama at President Joe Biden’s inauguration. The photos, shared to Ryleigh’s account, are going viral — and have even gotten the former first lady’s seal of approval.
As of Monday, the original post has gotten more than 10,000 likes and fans took to the comments to praise the adorable photo shoot.
“This is one of the best things I have ever seen. Ever! What cuties. PS - I am also the mom of a 3-year-old Riley!” one person said.
“This is all kinds of smiles and love!” a user declared.
“LOVEEEEEE IT!” someone added.
“Precious and fierce,” another person continued.
Michelle, who posted the images to her Twitter and Instagram pages, wrote, “Ryleigh & Zayden, you nailed it!”

Zoe Hampton, Ryleigh’s aunt, tells Yahoo Life that her niece has only been actively modeling for about a year and they decided to do the photo shoot because they loved the former first couple’s outfits. Hampton admits that the family is surprised by the responses the photos have gotten.
“We never expected it to get as big as it has gotten. We definitely didn't expect Michelle to actually see it. It is truly amazing and we are beyond grateful and thankful for the support and love the picture has gotten,” she tells Yahoo Life.
Hampton notes that “representation matters” and these pictures show people the importance of children “being exposed to amazing and powerful role models such as the Obamas.” She adds, “Young children are so impressionable and at a young age it's important to let them know you can do anything you put your mind to.”
Ryleigh has also dressed up as Vice President Kamala Harris in her famous white suit and as the late music legend Prince.
Last month, Michelle’s plum outfit, which was made by Black designer Sergio Hudson, broke the internet. Her stylist, Meredith Koop shared that she was inspired to work with Hudson because “he gets it,” adding that she’s “worked with hundreds of designers on custom looks both in the U.S. and internationally, and I can say confidently that Sergio is in the top in his designs, construction and understanding of how to dress the curves of a woman’s body.”
She continued, “What I want to convey most, though, is that this particular outfit is about the woman wearing it more than anything. It is about her and what she means to you and to America. She is powerful and she needs to move. She is stunning and she represents what is possible. She is relatable and she is aspirational. She has consistently articulated over the years what has been in the hearts and minds of so many. She has taken a look at the rule book and turned the page. She leads, she inspires, she slays.”
