Kim Cattrall, 65, posts bathing suit photo: 'Nothing to see here! Keep movin'
Kim Cattrall has made it clear she's moved on from her famed character Samantha Jones, but the former Sex and the City star — now acting on the Queer as Folk reboot — couldn't help channeling some of that sexpot energy in a new Instagram post shared over the weekend.
On Saturday, the 65-year-old actress posted a shot of herself posing in a chocolate brown one-piece swimsuit with a plunging neckline.
"Nothing to see here! Keep movin,'" a non-nonsense Cattrall captioned the saucy pic — not that her followers paid it any mind.
"U need to wear this on the red carpet,," Cattrall's Queer as Folk co-star Ryan O'Connell wrote.
"You are hot beyond comparison," read another comment, while another fan declared the star a "sexy mama."
Cattrall has spoken open about the transition she's experienced as an actress in recent years, and how she's become even more comfortable with herself in her 60s.
"In my 50s, I felt things slipping away," Cattrall told People back in 2020. "It was a gradual change, but the scripts were cut in half. (In Hollywood) you're either an ingenue or a leading lady and then a divorced wife or a cougar. And I'm none of those things."
Cattrall went on to say that "the biggest mystery of life is what happens next."
"It's about embracing the closing of one door. And it's about your viability, your sexuality, your desirability and continuing to cherish what meant the world to you," she said.
Cattrall's post came just days after former co-star Sarah Jessica Parker's recent statements about their rift on the Hollywood Reporter's "Awards Chatter" podcast.
"It's very hard to talk about the situation with Kim because I've been so careful about not wanting to ever saying anything that's unpleasant, because it's not the way I like to conduct conversations that are as complicated as this. The best way of do it is to run through how it happened," Parker explained, saying that some of Cattrall's demands during the process of making a third Sex and the City movie were denied by the studio. "There were things she requested that they were not able to do. They didn't feel comfortable meeting where she wanted to meet, and so we didn't do the movie because we didn't want to do it without Kim. The studio wasn't going to do it. It fell apart. It wasn't that she said no to the movie, it's that the studio said no to the movie, which happens. Every actor has a right to ask for things."
But it was what happened in the wake of that decision that caused a significant controversy. As both Cattrall and Parker made comments in the press about the inability to produce an additional sequel, the woman appeared to be feuding.
"There were just a lot of public conversations about how she felt about the show," said Parker. "I've spent a lot of years working really hard to always be decent to everybody on the set, to take care of people. There just isn't anyone else who's ever talked about me this way, so it's very painful, because she's a huge contributor to the success. Her portrayal of that role was wonderful, and it filled out everything."
Parker went on to share why she didn't feel comfortable inviting Cattrall to reprise her role of Samantha for the HBO Max reboot, And Just Like That... .
"We did not ask her to be part of this because she made it clear that it was not something she wanted to pursue, and it no longer felt comfortable for us. That's not slamming her, it's just learning. You gotta listen to somebody, and if they're publicly talking about something and it doesn't suggest it's somewhere they want to be or a person they want to play ... you get to the age where you're like, we hear that," she explained, while stating that the cast still has "such affection for Samantha."
Parker also disputed reports suggesting that she is taking part in a "catfight."
"It's so painful for people to keep talk about this catfight. I've never uttered fighting words in my life about anybody I've worked with. There is not a fight going on. There has been no public dispute or spat or conversations or allegations made by me or anybody on my behalf. I just wish they would stop calling this a 'catfight' or an 'argument' because it doesn't reflect it, actually. There has been one person talking," Parker said.
