Kim Kardashian apologizes for 'insensitive' comments comparing her weight loss to an eating disorder
It’s been two months since Kim Kardashian posted a series of controversial video clips celebrating her weight loss. And while the backlash was immediate, the reality star is only now addressing the drama.
The uproar stemmed from the way Kardashian and two of her sisters, Kendall Jenner and Khloé Kardashian, spoke about her trim, 119 lb. figure. While the 37-year-old KKW Beauty founder protested that she wasn’t “that skinny,” her sisters lavished praise on her and even compared her slim-down to an eating disorder.

“No, like, I’m really concerned, I don’t think you’re eating,” Jenner said in one clip. “You look so skinny.”
Khloé Kardashian added that her waist looked “anorexic,” which Kim took as a compliment.
The sisters’ discussion rubbed many people the wrong way. They called out the women for glorifying eating disorders and setting an unhealthy example for impressionable fans.
Kardashian is now walking back her comments. The mom of three appeared on model Ashley Graham‘s body-positive podcast, Pretty Big Deal, to address the criticism her Instagram Stories received.

“I 100 percent completely understand where people would be coming from that felt that way,” Kardashian told Graham. “My intention is never to offend anyone, and I really apologize if I offended anyone.”
She added that she was proud of her body transformation — “I actually just feel healthy and strong and confident, so I just want to post it” — but admitted that the conversation she had with her sisters was “insensitive” and not as harmless as they originally thought.
“I know people that have serious eating disorders that have been in and out of the hospital for 15 years, close people,” she said. “So, I’ve been through — I’ve experienced it enough to have known better.”
Still, not everyone is convinced. One Graham fan expressed her disappointment that the pro-curve catwalk queen would give Kardashian a platform, given her controversial promotion of appetite-suppressant lollipops.
Why would you do a podcast episode with someone who promotes disordered eating/body image, excessive exercise & appetite suppressants!?! So much for your message of ‘body positivity’ . . . @ashleygraham #ashleygraham
