Kim Kardashian Makes Rare, Pointed Dig at Kanye West
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West
Kim Kardashian doesn't often speak on her split from ex-husband Kanye West, but she appears to have made a pointed dig at the rapper in the most recent episode of her reality series.
In the footage, Kardashian was spending some time with friend Chris Appleton, a hairstylist, who had recently got engaged to actor Lukas Gage, where she quoted the infamous Ye when encouraging the couple to sign a prenuptial agreement.
The two were chatting about the relationship as Appleton did her hair, eventually dialing up his fiancé to get involved, when Kardashian's eyes lit up with the thought of the advice.
“Wait, you have to get a prenup,” she interjected as the phone rang. “Can I mention that in front of him?“
She went on to explain that it doesn’t matter to her who anybody is or what they have before turning to look directly in the camera, a glimmer in her eye as she spit out a verse from her ex-husband’s hit track “Gold Digger.“
The SKIMS founder smirked at the camera at the conclusion of the lyric, “We want prenup, we want prenup,” raising her right fist in the air to accent the statement as Gage answered the call.
She and West were married for seven years before she filed for divorce in early 2021, with reports coming out that the two were adhering to their prenuptial agreement. But things weren't settled until nearly two years later—mostly in regard to their children, as they'd reportedly kept their assets separate from one another, though Kardashian accused him of trying to "rewrite the terms" of the prenup at the time.
As such, it's unsurprising to see her so impassioned by the contract, even interrupting Appleton as he tried to ask her a question with Gage. “Wait, can I just give you one tip from a lawyer?” she requested, cheekily spouting, “Prenup!” once Gage acquiesced.
"Sign that prenup, baby!" he agreed. She even offered to write up a "super general" one for them, later explaining that she didn't have an agreement in place for her first wedding, which occurred in a Vegas chapel.
