While the rest of us were completely shocked by the news of Pete Davidson and Kim Kardashian’s breakup on Friday night (probably because Monday to Thursday were occupied by sources claiming they were still “smitten” ??), apparently the split wasn’t sudden. Like, at all.

“There truly wasn’t drama between them when they decided to separate,” a source tells Us Weekly in the wake of their breakup. “It was something they talked through; it wasn’t a sudden breakup. They each have busy schedules and the distance made it hard. Kim travels a ton and it was hard for Pete to keep up, especially with his filming schedule. They had a lot of fun together and they can look back with fond memories.”

Details of the split are still kinda iffy, but again—just DAYS before, another source was out here telling US Weekly literally two days ago that “Kim and Pete are in constant communication” and that “they send each other love notes while the other is sleeping and FaceTime whenever their schedules link up.” This source also said that “communicating long-distance is exciting” for these two and they “can’t wait until they’re in the same place again.”

AND a source told E! News (also right before the split) that “Kim loves that he’s always making her laugh and he truly makes her day when they talk. She is still smitten over him and it just works for her.”

Truly unclear what changed or why sources were painting a completely different picture of this relationship one day to the next, but ˉ\_(ツ)_/ˉ.
