Kim Kardashian says she hit the gym after being body-shamed as new bikini photos surface
It seems few celebrities can avoid body shaming, no matter their size. But Kim Kardashian is taking measures to avoid more trolling.
The reality star, who is currently enjoying a luxurious vacation in Turks and Caicos with sister Kourtney, admitted to a fan on Twitter that she’s been working out following an incident last year in which she accused the paparazzi of Photoshopping images of her wearing a bikini in Mexico to be more unflattering.
“I saw these awful photos of myself when I was on a trip to Mexico and people were Photoshopping them and sharpening them,” she said during a 2017 appearance on The View. “And then the worst photo — I definitely wasn’t in the best shape.
“I hadn’t worked out in I think 12 weeks,” she continued. “I had two surgeries on my uterus — we documented that on the show — but I was already not feeling like myself. Then when people were sharpening them and making them look way worse, I was like, ‘OK. I’m going to get it together,’ and I started working out with this bodybuilder girl I found actually on social media, so that’s a positive thing.”
Kardashian’s new tweet confirmed that she hopes her efforts in the gym ward off any unwelcome paparazzi photos.
I've been living too hard core in the gym for that to ever happen to me again
So far its been very private, no paps in site. But don't worry we've been taking tons of pics. I will post them when i have time https://t.co/JQFhpYr4CI— Kim Kardashian West (@KimKardashian) April 8, 2018
She’s shared her own bikini photos, though, and the body shamers have mercifully been silent.
