Kim Kardashian's Instagram throwback proves she and Kanye were meant to be
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West were destined to be together. At least, that’s what it seems like from the throwback photo the reality star posted on Instagram Saturday.
Kardashian and West were married in May 2014, but they met more than a decade before that. And the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star shared an old picture to remind fans that she always “had eyes” for the rapper.

“Always had 👀 for him 😘,” Kardashian captioned the picture of the two from years ago. Her sisters were quick to comment, too. “Awwwwwwwwwww it was written in the stars,” Khloé Kardashian commented. Kendall Jenner wrote, “looooovvveeeee this.”
Back in 2017, Kardashian talked to Ryan Seacrest about the first time she and West met, retelling the story for the Keeping Up With the Kardashians 10-year special.
“I met him I think in 2002 or 2003,” Kardashian explained to Seacrest. “He was recording a song with Brandy, and I was her friend. I vividly remember hanging out with him, and then they did a video together, so I’d see him a few times. He was asking his friends: ‘Who is this Kim Kardajan?’ He didn’t know what my name was.” Fast forward to 2019, and KUWTK is featuring playful conversations between the couple where she brags to him that she’s the more famous one.
As Cosmopolitan explains, one Kanye West song hints that he fell in love with his now-wife while she was still with her ex-husband Kris Humphries. West’s “Theraflu” features the lyrics “I fell in love with Kim ’round the same time she had fell in love with him.” After Kardashian and Humphries split, she and West started dating in 2012; their first child, North West, was born in 2013.
It’s hard to remember a time before Kim and Kanye were together, or when he wouldn’t have known who she was in the first place. But time has a funny way of changing things, and it seems like their love story was written years before they even got together.
