Kind Man Sadly Loses His Job After Stopping to Rescue a Baby Moose

As much as we'd like there to be, there's no official handbook on being a good person. The best we can do is take each decision as it comes, just like Mark Skage did when he stopped on the side of the road to rescue a baby moose.

As @cbcvancouver explains, the British Columbia man initially pulled over when he saw the moose calf, then exited his truck to look for its mama. When he saw something else instead, he decided to act fast and save the baby.

What an amazing thing for this man to do! We applaud his quick thinking and attention to detail in such a vital situation. He thought he was pulling over just to assist a moose calf, but he ended up saving its life. We think we know how that bear encounter would've gone, and we're glad it never became reality.

Naturally, TikTok commenters are rushing to Mark's defense. @Jaders14 wrote, "What a good man! I would've done the same thing and he should not have lost his job for doing what's right!" We couldn't agree more! Even though he technically broke a law by putting the moose in his truck, it's easy to see that he had no malicious intent. Like Mark said, he called a conservation officer as soon as he had cell phone service!

Still, the kindhearted man lost his job at AFD Petroleum, Inc. for stopping to save the animal. His actions supposedly breached company protocol. Still, his many fans are crossing their fingers for Mark to get an even better job at a company that shares his values. This hero deserves only the best!
