King Charles Smiles Brightly at Easter Service With Queen Camilla Amid Cancer Battle

As Easter church service commenced at Windsor on March 31, King Charles made an appearance alongside his wife, Queen Camilla, amid his cancer battle.

All eyes were on the monarch as he made his way into the Easter Sunday service at St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle.

Before stepping into the chapel, the King and Queen stopped to wave, say hello, and chat with the public. Charles was all smiles as he wore an elegant full-length jacket over a suit and light blue tie, while Camilla wore a dark green dress and hat with black gloves and a jacket.

The King and Queen were joined by other senior royals like Prince Edward, his wife Sophie and their son James, as well as Princess Anne and her husband Tim Laurence. Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson were also in attendance.

After the service, the king surprised public onlookers by walking over to them to shake hands and talk a bit more before moving on. Many members of the public wished Charles well and shared their support for him as he battles cancer. It's unknown if Charles and Camilla attended the normal post-service family lunch this year.

While Prince William, Kate Middleton, and their three children—Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis—regularly attended the holiday event, they opted to skip the services this year, which doesn’t come as much of a surprise as the princess previously announced her own cancer battle following “major abdominal surgery.”

While announcing her diagnosis to the world following a lengthy surgery recovery and incessant conspiracy theories, she revealed she is currently undergoing preventative cancer treatment and requested privacy for her and her family.

Kate and her family were likely at home spending time together while the Easter service was going on, and neither Kate nor William were spotted out Sunday.

The King’s holiday appearance is an encouraging sign about his health and marks one of the most significant events the 75-year-old has attended since beginning cancer treatment following a diagnosis in February, shortly after being treated for an enlarged prostate.

On March 26, he was also seen briefly returning to royal duties while meeting with Vijaya Nath, Dame Martina Milburn, and other community faith leaders from across the UK, as part of the Windsor Leadership Trust.
