ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR)– The Kiwanis Club in Roanoke is hosting its annual pancake breakfast open to the community from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Berglund Center.

The club expects to have pancakes, sausage, and a variety of syrups, toppings, and drinks prepared for over 3,000 people. During the breakfast, guests will have entertainment provided by a DJ and local live musicians.

“Who doesn’t enjoy a good meal and then get a little bit of entertainment and then know the ticket you bought is going to help out somebody else in the community,” said Kiwanis Pancake Fundraiser Chairperson Jeanne Bollendorf.

Along with the breakfast, over 200 great vendors and artisans are scheduled to participate in the Spring Craft and Vendor Show. There will also be an auction with raffle items such as restaurant gift cards, home items, yard items, and jewelry. The main prize, however, in partnership with the City of Roanoke, the Kiwanis Club is auctioning off the ability to have your own custom plaque installed at the base of the Mill Mountain Star for an entire year.

Individual tickets for the breakfast are $7 when purchased in advance and $10 when purchased on-site, and children five and under are free.

All profits will go toward the Kiwanis Club and its mission, which includes helping local non-profits such as the Adult Care Center, Meals on Wheels, The Local Office of Aging, and The West End Center.
