What you need to know about the free Countdown to Kindergarten event Aug. 2

Countdown to Kindergarten is back. This free event helps children get ready for the big day. It will be held from 5 – 7 p.m. Aug. 2 on Magnolia Street in front of TCMU-Spartanburg. The event is free for families with children in rising grades K3 - K5, but please register in advance.

Magnolia Street in front of TCMU will be blocked off and vendors will be on site to provide resources for families preparing for kindergarten. TCMU-Spartanburg will host activities to help kids get ready for the first day, include learning how to carry a lunch tray and visiting a mock classroom.

The event is completely free for families but RSVP is requested, which will also allow TCMU to email event updates and information before the event.
