Krispy Kreme Selling Doggie Doughnuts for a Limited Time
In honor of National Dog Day, Krispy Kreme is offering a very special treat.
Are you the proud owner of one very good boy (or girl)? Then you'll want to run, not walk, to Krispy Kreme on Friday.
The beloved doughnut chain has announced that in honor of National Dog Day, it will expand its offerings to include pup-friendly options.
The limited-edition baked treats–dubbed "Doggie Doughnuts"–will become available on Aug. 26 at participating stores while supplies last (prices vary by location), according to a press release.
A box of Doggie Doughnuts is said to include six doughnut-shaped biscuits that were inspired by classic Krispy Kreme doughnuts. The treats themselves aren't actually made by Krispy Kreme, but the Australian artisan pet treat company Huds and Toke.
According to official statements on the Krispy Kreme site, Doggie Doughnuts were designed to be suitable for dogs of all sizes and ages. The treats feature a hard-baked cookie consistency and quality ingredients, such as carob (a common pet-safe substitute for chocolate) and peanut butter.
But that's not all! For a little extra tail-wagging sweetness, the company also announced the release of limited-edition pet bandanas. The red one-size-fits-most accessory is printed with a delightful pattern of dogs, bones and doughnuts; and will be available at select stores this weekend or while supplies last.
“Our dogs have given us so much love and comfort to help us through these last couple of years. They deserve this special treat,” Krispy Kreme Global Chief Brand Officer Dave Skena stated in the release.
He continued: “On National Dog Day this Friday, give your furry friend something pawsome.”
Doggie Doughnuts will be available for purchase in-shop and via drive-thru at participating stores, to find a location near you, click here.
Please note: only service dogs are allowed inside Krispy Kreme locations. If you'd like your pup to join you for the ride, the brand said you're more than welcome to bring your furry-legged friend along in the drive-thru!
