Kristen Bell Reveals the Awkward Moment Dax Shepard Accidentally Sexted Her Mom
As a general rule of thumb, it's best to steer clear of the eggplant emoji — especially when texting your in-laws. Just ask Kristen Bell, whose husband Dax Shepard accidentally turned a friendly exchange with her mom into a suggestive conversation with just a single touch of his iPhone screen.
During an appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres Show, Bell hilariously recalled how Shepard once sexted her mom, Lorelei, by mistake. It all started before a trip to Los Angeles to visit the family, and Lorelei sent Dax a text alerting him about the time of her arrival into the city.

“She sent a text message which said, ‘be there by 11' and then sends something else: 'Can’t wait to see you tonight,'” Kristen began to tell the cringe-worthy tale. “He meant to respond smiley face, smiley face, smiley face, but instead he responds eggplant, eggplant, eggplant.”
Realizing the mix-up, Kristen revealed Dax panicked and said, "Oh no, I made a huge mistake," showing her his phone.

"By the way, the minute you involve an eggplant emoji, the whole story changes," she told Ellen, adding in a seductive voice: "Because now it reads, 'I'll be there at 11. Can't wait to see you tonight.'" Thankfully, Lorelei was none the wiser, as Kristen admitted her mom didn't know the meaning of the eggplant emoji.
