  • Of course, fans had lots of comments and questions, as it’s unclear how Shepard broke his hand or wrist.

Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard really know how to keep quarantine interesting. On April 25, The Good Place actress shared an Instagram video of her husband removing a surgical pin from what appears to be a broken hand or wrist. “We’re on day ‘I can do my own surgery’ of quarantine [sic],” she captioned the post.

How he injured himself is unclear, but the Bless This Mess actor’s arm is newly casted. And in Bell’s video, he’s on the phone with his doctor, who’s walking him through “the procedure” while his wife and kids watch.

It was like ripping off a bandaid, he had to commit and follow through, fast. “Yep, that feels weird. It’s out,” he said, pinching the phone between his ear and shoulder as he operated. Bell gasped. “Oh wow,” she said. “How’d that feel?”

Strangely calm, Shepard continued. “It’s out. No blood squirting anywhere. I’m gonna add pin removal to my resume now,” he told the doctor. “Am I the worst patient you’ve ever had? I’m texting you non-stop, and now I’m taking out pins that you put in.”

His daughters, five-year-old Delta and seven-year-old Lincoln, can be heard in the background. “Can I see the pin? Is it covered in blood?” one of them asked. Bell replied: “No.”

Of course, fans had lots of comments and questions. “Sooo I would appreciate a backstory ??” one wrote. Another replied, “One day he posted a pic of a motorbike and that he was going for a ride. Later you saw him with a cast... but they never explained what happened..” That’s just a theory, though.

“I thought this was a joke but it’s for real??? Oh my... that’s next level. ??,” someone else added. Another wrote, “First dentistry now this? ????”

Yeah, not long before Bell uploaded the hand video, she posted one of Shepard defending his ability to fill a cavity, Bell arguing with him in the background. “We’re on day ‘I could absolutely fill a cavity’ of quarantine [sic],” she captioned the post. In the clip, a cast-less Shepard passionately explains all he knows about professional dental cleanings… while eating spaghetti at the dinner table.

“When ur both not dentists but argue over how to fill a cavity ??,” one commenter wrote.

The married couple has claimed to be “at each other’s throats” while in isolation. “We’re getting along good with the kids and we’re getting along good with adults we’re friends with,” Shepard said in an interview with Katie Couric. “[But] this has been stressful for mama and dada.”

Things can only go up from here, right?
