Kristin Chenoweth Celebrates Her 'Gotcha Day'
Kristin Chenoweth is celebrating a very important day today, July 29: her 55th "Gotcha Day!"
The singer, who turned 55 on July 24, 2023, was adopted at five days old, and in addition to her actual birthday, she and her parents are marking the day they got to bring her home.
"It’s July 29th, which means it’s my #gotchaday!!" she wrote on Twitter, alongside a photo of herself sitting on a couch next to her dad, Jerry. Her mom, Junie, sat in a nearby arm chair, while a pup stood in front of the coffee table in between them, staring comically right into the camera lens.

In an interview with Today, back when she was promoting her book, What Will I Do with My Love Today?, Chenoweth opened up about being adopted, sharing that her father always sweetly says, "Man, did we win the lottery." In response, she always replies, "No, I won the lottery."
The couple never kept it a secret from their daughter, explaining at a young age that "the lady that had you in her belly could not take care of you the way she wanted to, and she loved you so much."
