Now Perfect Corp. through its app called YouCam Makeup is bringing the expertise of celebrity makeup artist Kristofer Buckle “virtually” to users.
In a partnership with the makeup artist, who has worked with famous faces such as Mariah Carey and Blake Lively, YouCam Makeup launched a collection of looks in its AR app called the Fantasy Series. Six looks will be available at first for what will become an ongoing feature between Buckle and YouCam to bring his styles to life through AR. Those looks were created from three fantasy styles that have been translated into more natural everyday versions. Users can access the looks through the free YouCam Makeup App.
“Makeup is paint. You can paint a soft natural angelic look or create a ferocious aggressive sexy style with the same products and I’m showing you the fun extreme possibilities with YouCam,” said Buckle in a statement. “This creative beauty matchup offers a fun and creative form of instant self-expression that simplifies makeup discovery into a single tap in YouCam.”
Alice Chang, chief executive officer of YouCam’s parent Perfect Corp., said the collection will encourage YouCam users to try “bold” styles while feeling more empowered through the AR beauty experience. This is the latest move by Perfect Corp and YouCam as it seeks avenues to inspire virtual experimentation. Recently, Perfect Corp ushered in Magic Mirrors at Macy’s Herald Square.
The app developer also teamed up with L’Oréal Paris to offer beauty makeovers inspired by the Cannes Film Festival as well as live reports from the event. Earlier this year, YouCam virtually delivered the beauty inspiration of Broadway’s “War Paint” to its app. Perfect Corp. has more than 400 million downloads globally.
