Staying true to Kseniaschnaider’s creative vision of “design minus design,” the inaugural collaborative collection of apparel, footwear and accessories reimagines signature Adidas looks.
Denim pieces anchor the collection. A line of jeans and denim jackets, available in black, ecru and indigo, features the classic Adidas three stripes down the sleeves and legs. Frayed edges decorate snap-up denim shirt dresses.
The undone hems act as fringe on a pair of jeans with a drawstring waistband. Another pair of voluminous jeans features a double waistband—one denim, the other a blue track pant.
The collection also includes a color-blocked tennis dress, zip-up jacket, cropped top and wide-leg pants inspired by Adidas tracksuits. Black-and-white track trousers feature slits at the thigh—a design element featured in Kseniaschnaider’s denim designs. Co-branded hoodies and graphic tees round out the apparel.
The footwear selection comprises updates to the adi2000, Forum Mid and Superstar sneakers. Indigo denim is used on uppers as stripes and heel details. Black denim is used for a line of accessories including a bucket hat and a top. Pops of green neon feature throughout.
The Adidas Originals x Kseniaschnaider collection launches on July 1 and will be available on both brands’ websites and at select Adidas stores.
It has been a busy year for Kseniaschnaider.
In January, German online fashion retailer Zalando teamed with the brand to launch a limited-edition capsule collection of denim jackets and asymmetrical jeans.
Premium denim brand DL1961 launched a collaboration with the brand in March that centered on its signature denim fur. The partnership began in May 2022 when DL1961 commissioned Ksenia Schnaider to create a custom look for its “Indigo” exhibition in London.
Schnaider made an appearance at Denim PV in May and she will have an exhibition at Bluezone in Munich on July 18-19.
