Kylie Jenner is slammed for Stormi's 'obscene' 1st birthday party and designer gift haul

We all know that the Kardashians are living the luxe life — and baby Stormi is no exception.

Kylie Jenner, who’s poised to be the youngest billionaire ever, threw an especially extravagant bash for her baby’s first birthday over the weekend. The makeup mogul, who had been planning the “StormiWorld” party since last June, didn’t pretend it was a modest affair, bragging to her 126 million Instagram followers, “I had to go all out for my baby” with the Astroworld knockoff theme, a nod to partner Travis Scott.

At the party, Stormi was gifted her first Chanel bag, from DJ Khaled, a moment captured on camera, with the baby in dad Travis Scott’s arms and Kylie gushing, “Oh my goodness, Stormi. Stormi, your first Chanel!”

The presents didn’t stop there. Kylie later posted a video of the haul, which also included a Gucci gift bag and a Christian Louboutin box among the gifts the baby was literally drooling over. “You’re so lucky,” Kylie tells Stormi, who likely won’t remember a bit of her first birthday.

And while the Kardashians have the most devoted fans ever, there were also online critics who called the display excessive. “So tacky, Kyle Jenner,” tweeted one person. “Everyone is happy for your success but to parade this in front of girls who adore you and will never achieve that life. A step too far love.”

And several people commented about how what the child got was beyond their means.

Another person responded to a poll about whether the party was too excessive, writing, “It has nothing to do with whether or not they can afford it. #Stormi is never going to remember that party. In addition, if you begin that way, you’re certain to raise a spoiled, self-centered child who grows up lazy, thinking the world owes them everything.”

Yes, the “s” word was used.

One person joked that Stormi would be storing her Play-Doh in that Chanel purse, and another called the gift display “f***ing obscene.”

Designer things for Kardashian babies run in the family. Khloé Kardashian posted a photo of baby True in Burberry for her 10-month photo shoot on Tuesday. And when Kim Kardashian had North West, practically every day she’d post photos of designer outfits sent to the tot from fashion folks like Stella McCartney, Giuseppe Zanotti, Michael Coste and Charlotte Olympia.

Stormi is Jenner and Scott’s only child together. She recently teased a second pregnancy, but it was all in fun.
