The Kylie Jenner of slime reveals how she gained more than 6 million followers on YouTube
At 23, Karina Garcia has built an empire — by making slime. The young mogul started her vlogging career sharing various DIY projects, but then inspiration struck one day when she saw a slime recipe on Pinterest. By mixing in her own ingredients and colors (and making her recipes safe), she’s amassed a huge following on YouTube, with more than 6 million subscribers. Some of her videos have been watched 20 million times.
On Tuesday, Garcia stopped by The Morning Breath and taught Claudia and Jackie Oshry how to make slime with her new Craft City DIY Slime Kit. Before getting started, Garcia, who The New York Times credits with starting the slime trend, revealed that she feels pressure to constantly have her nails look amazing because her hands are always on camera. But that’s a small price to pay for being “the Kylie [Jenner] of slime.”
