Kyra Sedgwick Reveals the Moment She Knew Kevin Bacon Was the One
It's wasn't love at first sight like it was for him.
For Kevin Bacon, it was love at first sight when he laid eyes on Kyra Sedgwick on the set of Lemon Sky in 1987
At least, that's what he told People for the couple's new cover feature. But for Sedgwick, it took a little convincing.
"I was knocked out," he told the publication of the first time he caught sight of her. "I thought she was amazing."
But Bacon may have been a little too full of himself, still riding high on the fame that came with his role in Footloose three years prior—which his would-be wife had yet to see. "I remember thinking, 'Oh, he thinks he's really cool,'" she followed up, revealing that she wasn't sold on going out with him.
The happy couple has been married for over 30 years now, so, clearly, she eventually accepted his request for a date. Dinner went well, and the two spent hours together, but it was the way she felt when she got up the next morning that let her know she'd made the right choice in saying yes.
"I remember waking up and going, 'I feel like home,' I realized, 'Oh, that was him,'" she said, later adding of their long-lasting relationship, "A sense of humor is crucial. He is very freaking funny."
Today, they share son Travis, 33, and daughter Sosie, 31, keeping life eventful with glamorous date nights and laidback jam sessions at home. For Bacon, "walking down the street together just shooting the shit in the middle of the night still feels like a nice place to be."
