Labor Day 2024: What’s open, what’s not
CLEVELAND (WJW) — It’s a federal holiday to celebrate the American worker, but many will still find themselves laboring on Labor Day.
Many nationwide retailers remain open and even offer sales during the unofficial end-of-summer weekend. But, take note that some stores may operate fewer hours than normal.

Below you will find a rundown of what’s open — and what’s not — on Sept. 2, 2024.
What’s open:
ALDI stores operate limited hours on Labor Day. You can find specific hours for your local store here.
Best Buy stores are open for the holiday and offer shoppers Labor Day savings. You can find specific location hours here. And, explore deals being offered here.
Chick-fil-A restaurants are open on Labor Day, however some may have limited hours. You can check through the app or find your specific restaurant here.
CVS stores will be open, but hours may vary at each location.
Discount Drug Mart locations will be open on Labor Day, however hours at certain locations may be affected by the holiday. You can check specific locations here.
Giant Eagle is open to shoppers. You can find Labor Day grilling staples here.

What’s closed:
Major banks are closed on federal holidays, including Labor Day. However, some services such as ATMs may remain available.

Federal, state and local government offices are closed on Labor Day.
Labor Day is a holiday for the United States Postal Service. Post offices will be closed, and there will be no mail delivery.
There is no pickup or delivery services for UPS. Stores may be closed, however you can check here for specific locations.
