After months and months of mask-wearing, we all play favorites. Maybe you’ll wear a surgical mask while your favorite tie-dye version is in the wash, but the conical KN95 is your favorite for exercise or high-risk activities like riding public transportation or grocery shopping.
We’ve been keeping tabs on all the best masks, and now a slew of them are on sale for Labor Day. Best cooling mask? On sale. Best KN95? Same. Best all-around cloth mask? You guessed it—that’s deeply discounted, too. Scroll down to protect yourself while saving some hard-earned cash.
Powecom KN95 Masks
You will find other KN95 masks, but if you’re looking for the mask with the most enthusiastic seal of approval, that’s this one made by Powecom. These rare masks are approved by the FDA and officially included on the FDA Emergency Use Authorization List. Each KN95 mask on the list is confirmed to filter out 95 percent of particles or more.
“Of the three KN95 mask suppliers I've used, this mask appears to be best because, while the elastic ear loops are tight, they assure that the mask seals well—which is the objective here, after all,” writes a five-star reviewer. “The tight seal is made more bearable by virtue of the soft material used at the edges. When testing the edge leakiness by breathing hard in and out I didn't notice any leakage. As for the filter efficiency I'll have to depend on the FDA testing for that.”

Jointown Face Mask
A 50-pack of these disposable Jointown face masks costs less than $17—that’s just 33 cents a pop. They have three layers, and include a metal nose clip to keep them snug.
N-95 masks are in short supply and reserved for medical workers, but one nurse says Jointown face masks do the trick. “Exact same masks we use at the hospital,” says the shopper. “Checked the box, literally the same brand.”

Maxboost Fabric Face Mask
We love our polka-dotted face masks as much as we love our polka dotted dresses. But even we can recognize that there’s a time and a place for bold prints — and for the other days, there’s the LBD of face masks. These masks feature two layers and a breathable three-dimensional design.
“Meets all my requirements as an essential worker,” says a five-star reviewer. “It was important to have a mask that was comfortable and breathable. After going through several brands the following are important for me when choosing a mask: I should be able to breathe easily while doing things like running across a sidewalk or walking up multiple flights of stairs. Not tight to where it hurts my ears after prolonged use. Fabric doesn't make my nose itchy. Fabric doesn't smell weird. These masks cover all the requirements and don’t make my glasses fog up. “

Tough Headwear 12-in-1 Cooling Face Mask UPF 50
Reviewers swear by this face covering for keeping cool. It’s designed to be soaked in cold water and then snapped, which activates cooling. It retains its chill even on extra-hot days but also works great in chillier weather, by minimizing sweat.
“If you sweat too much while wearing a face mask, this product is for you.” writes a happy shopper. “We now have to wear a face covering at work and I sweat A LOT. Not only does this work to keep me cold, it's also very comfortable to wear...and it works for several hours.”
