Lady Gaga and Joe Biden released a video to announce their new sexual assault prevention campaign, “It’s On Us”
When two forces come together for good, not even the most evil of evils can stop them. Take it from Lady Gaga and former Vice President Joe Biden, who have teamed up for “It’s On Us,” a new campaign to help prevent sexual assault and raise awareness about its aftermath.
The two are no strangers to standing up for what they believe in, especially when it comes to sexual assault. Back at the 2016 Academy Awards, Biden introduced Gaga for her performance of “Til It Happens To You,” in which she brought out other sexual assault survivors on stage for a truly touching moment.

For their new campaign, the two have come together to remind us that it’s on all of us to prevent sexual assault — boys included.
In the video, Biden says,
“We want to make it real clear, it’s on us. It’s on everyone to intervene, to stop abuse when they see it and when they hear about it. No man has a right to raise a hand to a woman for any reason other than self-defense, period.”

Yes, Joe Biden, TELL THEM. No man has a right to a woman’s body. No man should touch a woman’s body unless it’s consensual or in self-defense.
After Biden laid down the law, Lady Gaga stepped up to explain that she knows how traumatic sexual assault can be, firsthand.

“And that’s not to leave out the men as well. I am a sexual assault survivor and I know the effects, the aftermath; the psychological, the physical, mental,” Lady Gaga stated. “It can be terrifying waking up every day feeling unsafe in your own body. But we’re here to remind you that it’s important to reach out to someone in your life that you can trust, that they can help you, that they will listen.”
Lady Gaga reminds us that there’s always someone out there who loves and supports us.
