Lady Gaga Was Reportedly Just Offered a Major Musical Movie Role in ‘Little Shop of Horrors’
Us Weekly sources say Lady Gaga was just offered a role in a movie musical.
It means Mother Monster might meet Little Shop of Horrors!
It has been exactly 348 days since A Star Is Born hit theaters and blew up our collective lives with music and romance and Oscars. But if you’ve spent these past 348 days watching and rewatching and re-rewatching that scene where Jackson Maine (Bradley Cooper) wraps a bag of frozen peas around Ally’s (Lady Gaga) hand, hit pause, my friend! Just for a second!
While Bradley’s already lined up his next movie—a Guillermo del Toro–directed thriller called Nightmare Alley—Gaga’s been pretty swamped with her new makeup line, Haus Laboratories, her new Vegas residency, her new boyfriend, and her new album. You name it, she’s probably working on it. But if the new reports emerging today are true, we might also catch her in a new role on the silver screen. Clearly, Gaga’s a giver.
Us Weekly sources say Warner Brothers has “offered a role” to Lady Gaga in the studio’s Little Shop of Horrors reboot.
In case your Spotify playlists aren’t just rotations of Broadway musical cast recordings and Gaga albums, know that Little Shop of Horrors started as a ’60s movie before being turned into a Broadway musical in the ’80s before being turned into a musical movie in the mid-’80s. Gaga seems to have a thing for remakes of remakes, amirite?
We don’t know what role Lady Gaga was allegedly offered, but the Us source said “she’s very interested to keep acting,” which sounds promising. Maybe she’ll play the lead character, Audrey, who works in a flower shop with Seymour (who eventually realizes this one plant is feeding on human flesh, it’s a whole thing). We can only hope.
