Lady Gaga Sued by Woman Who Returned Her Stolen Dogs

The court filings come nearly two years after the robbery that left the pop star's dog walker with a gunshot wound.

Nearly two years after the horrific dognapping of Lady Gaga's two bulldogs, which also left her assistant shot, the pop star is now being sued by the woman who returned the pups.

In court filings obtained by Buzzfeed News, Jennifer McBride–one of the five suspects arrested and charged in connection with the initial assault and robbery–has launched a suit against the "Rain on Me" singer, claiming that Lady Gaga didn't pay her any of the promised reward money.

As Parade previously reported, in Feb. 2021, Lady Gaga's two bulldogs, Koji and Gustav, were stolen by two armed assailants who attacked and shot her dog walker while out in Hollywood, California.

Shortly after the news broke, Lady Gaga offered a hefty reward with "no questions asked" to whoever returned her dogs, even writing on Instagram, "I will pay $500,000 for their safe return."

48 hours later, her two fur babies were recovered by a woman, later identified as McBride, who had a connection to the father of one of the men involved in the robbery. McBride was arrested for accessory attempted murder before pleading no contest to one count of receiving stolen property in Dec. 2022 and being sentenced to two years of probation, per the Los Angeles Times.

And now, McBride wants Lady Gaga to pay up.

The new filings alleged McBride did not receive the reward as promised and that Gaga "defrauded" McBride "by making a promise without intent to perform."

The lawsuit continued, claiming that McBride has suffered compensatory damages, pain and suffering, mental anguish, and loss of enjoyment of life as a result of not receiving the $500,000.

A representative for Lady Gaga did not return the outlet's request for a comment.
