Lady Gaga's Ex Reportedly "Infringed on Her Creative Process" Before Split
Lady Gaga's former fiancé Christian Carino reportedly "infringed on her creative process" and she "couldn't risk jeopardizing her career in that way," a source told Us Weekly.
The insider added that Gaga was "devastated at first" over the split.
Gaga and Carino's breakup was reported in February, days before the 2019 Oscars, which she attended solo. They were together for about two years.
Did Lady Gaga's former fiancé, Christian Carino, try to get in the way of her career? An insider told Us Weekly that the talent agent's personality "infringed on her creative process" before they broke up earlier this year. Gaga "couldn’t risk jeopardizing her career in that way, over a man, and that’s not something she would stand for," the source added.
Although Gaga was reportedly the one who broke things off with Carino, she was still "devastated at first" over their breakup. News of their split first broke in February, days ahead of her appearance at the 2019 Academy Awards. At the time, People reported that there was no major drama behind the breakup and that the couple "just didn't work out."
Us previously reported that Carino "didn’t treat Gaga very well toward the end of their [two-year] relationship." He was "jealous" and "was trying to find her all the time and texted her a lot," a source told the outlet.
Gaga and Carino's romance started in early 2017. In October 2018, she publicly confirmed they were engaged when she called him her fiancé during a speech. Carino accompanied Gaga to a few film festivals, press appearances, and award ceremonies for A Star Is Born, including the Golden Globes.
The SAG Awards at the end of January marked their last joint appearance at a major event. Weeks later, she attended the Grammys solo and without her engagement ring.
