LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM)– Plans are in the works for a new mural in Lancaster.

The plan is for a local artist to work on the project with kids at the bench mark program for at-risk youth. Artists can apply now.

The theme the city wants is “An Undercurrent of Strength.” The mural will face Water Street and the budget for it is $12,000 dollars.

“We’re allowing a space for local artists to showcase their their mastery of design and skill,” Program Manager for Public Art and Urban Design Molly Kirchoff said. “And it’s a great way to brighten up any type of fa?ade, particularly on buildings similar to this that aren’t aren’t they have the grandeur of some of the other historical buildings that we have in the city.”
