Update, 5/3: Looks like fans of Last Man Standing may have some real hope of a revival. Deadline reports that Tim Allen, the show's star and executive producer, has signed on for a seventh season, this time airing on Fox instead of ABC. Now, the team is reaching out to other stars to see if they're available to film new episodes.

Though this doesn't mean that a new season is a sure thing yet, Allen seems optimistic. "They heard all your voices people!!" he tweeted Thursday. "[Last Man Standing] just might be a reality. Keep it up."

Original post, 3/30: The revival of Roseanne, which premiered on ABC this week, was a massive hit, bringing in ratings TV comedies haven’t seen in years. And because of all that surprise success, TV executives are reportedly trying to bring back similar shows that highlight conservative view points, including Tim Allen’s sitcom, Last Man Standing.

TMZ reports that Fox is seriously considering reviving Last Man Standing, which used to air on ABC until it was canceled last year. Even though it aired on ABC, 20th Century Fox was the company producing the show. And the reason Fox is reportedly thinking of bringing back the show is that Allen shares Roseanne Barr’s conservative politics.

When the show was canceled last year, some Republican fans of the show were outraged, even starting a petition to save the sitcom. Allen argued that his show was canceled because he was a Republican, though ABC denied this claim. “There's nothing more dangerous right now than a likable conservative character,” Allen said on Norm Macdonald Live. Previously, in a controversial interview, Allen even went so far as to compare being a conservative in Hollywood to Nazi Germany.

This isn’t the first time there’s been some hope fora reboot of the show. Fox initially sought a new home for Last Man Standing, and CMT was interested, but things didn’t work out. For now, WGN America has announced it will air old episodes of the show.

According to the TMZ report, Fox would also love to bring back Married With Children, but can’t because Ed O’Neill and Katey Sagal can’t do it. Also on the list? That '70s Show and Malcolm in the Middle. Here’s the real question, though: If TV executives can bring back Last Man Standing, why not bring back Home Improvement? We think it's high time for some Tool Time.
