Yellowstone is still going strong. In early February, Paramount Network announced that season 5 of Yellowstone is officially happening. Shortly after, news broke that its prequel 1883 will have more new episodes. What’s more, a new series, 1932, will follow a different generation of the Duttons. Amid this exciting expansion to the Yellowstone franchise, the previously announced spin-off 6666 has yet to release major news, and it might be for a good reason.

In February 2021, Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan revealed that there was a new spinoff in the works tentatively called 6666. At the time, a press release detailed that the series would be about a ranch in West Texas where “the rule of law and the laws of nature merge.” Inspired after the real-life legendary southern land, “the 6666 is synonymous with the merciless endeavor to raise the finest horses and livestock in the world, and ultimately where world-class cowboys are born and made.” This description was enough to hook fans in, but then rumors started to swirl that Jefferson White, who plays Jimmy Hurdstrom on Yellowstone, would be part of the main cast of 6666. But now, these speculations could be shutdown.

When Yellowstone season 5 was announced, Deadline reported that all of the season 4 cast members would be returning for new episodes, including Jimmy and actress Kathryn Kelly. That’s right — Kathryn, who plays veterinarian and Jimmy’s fiancée, Emily, is now part of Yellowstone’s season 5 main cast.

Folks will remember hearing about the West Texas Four Sixes Ranch, a.k.a. 6666, in Yellowstone season 4. After Jimmy breaks his promise to John (Kevin Costner) to not rodeo ever again, he's sent over to the Sixes to become a real cowboy. There, he meets Emily and the two quickly fall in love. At the end of season 4, Jimmy returns to Yellowstone and introduces Emily to the gang. During this trip, he gets John’s blessing to head back to the Sixes and start a new life with Emily. Moments before Yellowstone season 4 ended, Jimmy and Emily said goodbye to everyone and headed off. But as it turns out, there will be more of these two in Yellowstone season 5.

Although there were rumors that 6666 would be about Jimmy taking on West Texas with Walker (Ryan Bingham), this doesn’t seem to the case — for now. Unlike the press release said, the Sixes isn’t “a place where the most dangerous thing one does is the next thing” from what we've seen so far.

Per Jimmy’s experience, it’s the complete opposite where it’s only about the task at hand and not constantly having to defend the land. “[In] Texas, I’m not fighting the neighbor to do my job because he’s got the same job. And so does his neighbor," Jimmy told Lloyd (Forrie J. Smith) about the Sixes. "It’s just cattle and cowboys all the way to the horizon."

What’s more, Walker revealed that no matter how much he wanted to join Jimmy in the southern state, he couldn’t because of his parole. The former prisoner, who served time after fatally punching a man at a bar, said he had to stay in Montana to do his check-ins every few weeks.

So, there you have it. It sounds like Jimmy and Emily will have larger parts in Yellowstone, whether that’s at the Paradise Valley ranch or over at the Sixes. But fans can expect to see more of their romance play out. Will they start wedding planning? Will Mia (Eden Brolin) come back for revenge after feeling slighted? Or will the two decide to move together back to the Dutton ranch?

We can’t wait to find out!
