Lea Michele Already Asked Her ‘Glee’ Co-Star Darren Criss to Perform in Her Wedding
At least she’s decisive. Actress Lea Michele is slowly setting wedding day expectations with her inner circle, including longtime collaborator and fellow Glee star Darren Criss.
The actress, who recently got engaged to businessman Zandy Reich, is currently embarking on a joint tour with Criss that will bring together their mutual love of music. “We put together a really great concert filled with songs we did together on Glee, some Broadway songs, also songs from my album and some of Darren’s—there’s something there for everyone,” Michele told Yahoo! on Tuesday, May 29. “If you can think about some of the duets that [Darren and I] did together, some of the more popular ones, we’re going to try to do a lot of those.”

It was during one of their practices that Michele realized how her longtime friend should contribute (in one capacity) on her wedding day. “Darren’s set is so good, I literally stood up and screamed like a fan. I’m a really big fan of his— obviously he’s my friend, but he’s an incredible performer,” she said. “There was a song he wanted me to sing in concert, so he told me kind of last minute, and I had to learn it… He [was] like, ‘Oh my gosh, thank you so much,’ and I’m like, ‘No problem, just start preparing all the songs for my wedding now.’”
Thankfully, Criss was in. “He’s like, ‘done,’” Michele recalled of the moment. “I got a good trade.”
Michele and Reich got engaged in the Hamptons in April. At the time, the Scream Queens star posted a photo of her engagement ring-adorned hand covering her face in disbelief. “Yes,” she simply captioned the pic.

Since then, she’s only made movement on the wedding party front by asking her best friend, Jonathan Groff, to be her maid of honor. “There’s no one else to fill those shoes better!” she said of the Frozen star. Groff should truly be honored as he’s currently the only one who’s made the cut. “I haven’t gotten that far yet,” Michele added of asking friends to be in the wedding. “Just Jonathan right now.”
