Lea Michele Shares 'Hard' Update as Toddler Son Reenters the Hospital
The 'Funny Girl' star only brought her son home from the hospital a few weeks ago.
Lea Michele has had a rough few weeks with her son.
The Glee alum, 36, took to Instagram stories today to update fans with the heartbreaking news that her toddler was back in the hospital just two weeks after he was released.
On April 5, Michele shared a photo of her 2-year-old son Ever Leo–whom she shares with her husband, Zandy Reich–as he lay in his crib, cuddled up with a blue blanket, placing a white heart emoji over his face to protect his privacy.
"Today was a hard day," she wrote. "As parents, we have to be strong for our kids. But sometimes, you just want to break down and cry (hidden in the bathroom or closet is usually best. Today I chose hospital bathroom)."
She continued: "These hard times show you truly what matters and is important in life and how much we have to be grateful for. It's been hard, to say the least, but our boy is such a champ and is going to be ok. But it still hurts."
The actress initially broke the news to her fans last month when she revealed that she would skip out on her matinee and evening performances of her Broadway show, Funny Girl, on Mar. 22 due to a "scary health issue" with Ever.
Two days later, the actress said she and Reich would be "taking our boy home from the hospital soon."
Then, just yesterday, at Variety's 2023 Power of Women event in New York City, Michele offered an update on how she and her family have been holding up.
"My husband and I, my whole family, we're just so grateful," she told E! News. "We've had so much incredible support from everyone, from our friends, people we don't know, my Funny Girl family. We're not out of the woods completely and this is going to be a little bit of a process."
Unfortunately, given today's latest update, it doesn't look like the process has been easy on Ever or his parents.
We're wishing for a speedy recovery.
